Non-heretitary Color Blindness
Non-hereditary color blindness can be caused by Shaken Baby Syndrome, trauma, or UV damage. This affects 28% of the people that have color blindness.



Inherited Color Blindness
Inherited color blindness can come from the X-Chromosome. This is the reason more men are affected than women. It can also originate from 19 different chromosomes. 




People Affected
Almost 7% of men are affected while only 1% of women are affected. This is caused by the X-chromosome.



Symptoms
Basic colors (red, blue, green) may be distorted or missing.




It can be treated with corrective lenses or costly surgery.




Research
The University of Washington developed a cure in two monkeys.
